Undie Sunday next 2 Weeks, then Meat Raffle, Mar 7
Plus excellent program at this Week's Meeting
Wed., Feb 12 at 7:15 we gather to review those upcoming projects and to hear an important talk about a very current topic - Vaping. What started as just a wierd curiosity: 'electronic cigarettes' became wrapped up in wave of encouraging youngsters with sweet, highly flavored, vapors, then even more serious chemical concoctions giving some a 'high'. Come hear from Jesssica Hutchings of GI schools "the Dangers of Vaping".
Undie Sunday Starts Next Week!
We will again have that vital Undie Sunday (for two weeks!) from February 10 - 24, collecting underwear, socks for homeless men and women, children. Posters are out, information spots will be on the Spectrum News channel. The hampers will be almost everywhere, see the note below for the places. As Sherry has been saying, we we will need lots of help on Monday, Feb 24 to sort the donations, then get them to Community Mission in Niagara Falls, and St Luke's Buffalo with their Code Blue Mission (more details on sorting & delivering, next week)

Yes, we have been talking for several weeks about Officers needed for this Club in 2020 / 21 (starting in July). President-Elect Sherry Miller will be President in 2020/21, you knew that. Please help her fill out a Leadership Team for that year (starting July 2020, AKA just 4 months away). Secretary and an additional Director are about set. We especially hope you might consider being part of a two person Co-President Elect team for 2021 / 22. We all recognize the President's role is important and covers many aspects. There is help and training, particularly when two share the role, it will be very do-able.
President Elect Sherry and her team are placing them almost everywhere. Hampers for gathering NEW underwear, socks for homeless men, women and children are being placed at most Island churches, and at Ace Hardware, Eggsquisite Eats, G I Co-op Nursery, G I Library, lobby of Town Hall, Heron Pointe, Island Ship Center, Key Bank, M & T Bank, Northwest Savings Bank, Soma Cura Wellness, Viking Diner (new one at 1849 G I Blvd) and of course, at Tops Friendly Market. We also have a special arrangement with Colvin Cleaners of Kenmore, so any using their pick-up service can give their driver packages of undies that will be delivered to Rotary. The collection fills such an important need for those unfortunate, down-on-their-luck folks who really need our help. Questions? Email Sherry by clicking on the above button for more info.
