and talking about!
Our Wish for a Glorious Holiday Season
and a New Year that Brings Peace to All!
As all of our Good and Wonderful Nation (and an equally, maybe better, Neighbor Nation to the North) prepares for this Holiday Season, the Officers, and Board of the Rotary Club of Grand Island offers you the Best of wishes both for this season and beyond:

One of the greatest joys of this season is the opportunity to say THANK YOU for supporting our club in 2019.

May your holidays sparkle with moments of love, laughter, and goodwill, And may the year ahead be full of health, happiness, contentment and joy.

Thanks to all the Bell Ringers: Rotarians, Interactors, EarlyActors, who worked hard to raise funds for the Salvation Army this month.  Your Rotary Club is moving forward after a couple of tough years, but is now poised for real progress.  Other than the never-ending quest for Members to join in Leadership of the Club (see below), your Editor will wait for a New Year's issue to push the upcoming projects and programs of the Club: a social program for the 5th Wednesday in January, Undie Sunday collection of underwear, socks, in February and the BIG MEAT RAFFLE on March 7.  For now, finish getting presents, beautifully wrap them, lay in food and drink for the Holidays, then Relax and Enjoy!

Solving our Leadership Needs -
Have you Responded to Nominations Survey?
We know several of you have responded to the Email asking for nominations / suggestions on Officers needed for this Club in 2020 / 21 (starting in July).  President-Elect Sherry Miller will be President in 2020/21, you knew that.  Please help her fill out a Leadership Team for that year (starting July 2020, AKA just 6 months away).  A President Elect for 2021 / 22 should be elected (or perhaps two folks could share that post).  There is also a Director (3 year term) position to fill.  Hank Kammerer has grudgingly offered to take the Secretary post another year, but there is a crying need for someone to either be understudy for year - or to become Secretary with Hank working alongside to ease the transition.  In addition, Director Mary Haggerty needs at least one Member to join her on the Scholarship selection committee.
There is still time to Help -
Share Your Happiness with Neighbors Foundation
Please remember GI Rotary started the Neighbors Foundation 45 years ago; it carries on a tradition of helping Island families in temporary economic distress.  The Foundation needs funds to help at least 53 G I Neighbor families.  Their Share Your Happiness fund raising campaign will provide Tops food gift cards, Target gift cards for children involved, turkeys, hams, etc to fill Holiday Baskets.  Checks can be sent to P.O. Box 155, Grand Island NY 14072 or go to the Neighbors Foundation web site and donate thru PayPal!
