A vital need on the Island, be there Wed. evening, and get a bonus - another excellent dinner from the the Launch Club staff! Of course, there are a few other things going on - keep reading below for all you are involved with at G I Rotary in the coming weeks:
Join the Sorting Party, Mon. eve, Feb 24, 6 - 7 PM at Island Welcome Center
Please join Chair Sherry Miller and others, 6 - 7 PM, Monday, Feb 24, at the Welcome Center off Whitehaven, as they sort the underwear, socks that has been collected in those Hampers the past two weeks. The donations must be sorted: male / female / children then bundled for delivery to Community Mission in Niagara Falls, and St Luke's Buffalo with their Code Blue Mission. You know the routine - Many Hands Make Light Work - and it is work that is so useful for the homeless, abused, in these cold late winter days.

Yes, we have been talking for several weeks about Officers needed for this Club in 2020 / 21 (starting in July). President-Elect Sherry Miller will be President in 2020/21, you knew that. Please help her fill out a Leadership Team for that year (starting July 2020, AKA just 4 months away). Secretary and an additional Director are about set. We especially hope you might consider being part of a two person Co-President Elect team for 2021 / 22. We all recognize the President's role is important and covers many aspects. There is help and training; particularly when two share the role, it will be very do-able.
Our Rotary District 7090 has programs that can really help G I Rotarians - coming up right now in March is Rotary Leadership Institute. This is an opportunity to spend Saturday, March 21 at Niagara College, off the QEW in NOTL, gaining both personal and Rotary growth, in ways that help you be a better leader and help you help our Club. A three part program featuring sessions across both personal development and Rotary details, with your Club paying the cost of the day, this RLI program offers a unique chance for you to help both yourself and the Club. Email President Dick for more info at the button below, or go directly to the District site for details on registration:
OK, it has an outlandish title - but it REALLY WORKS! Student Leadership Awards Program for Students High On Training. A weekend (May 1 - 3) at an outdoors adventure camp in Ancaster ON, helping High School Students develop team play and leadership skills, and confidence to direct their peers into useful projects toward outstanding goals. We have sent several to this program in the past, help us find the NEXT GENERATION of LEADERS. Yes, it would be ideal if the candidates were current Interact Members, but it is not necessary. If you know of High Schoolers, Interact or otherwise that might be interested, contact President Dick at the button below.
